Comprendre les enjeux de l'agriculture

In 2014, African countries adopted the Malabo Declaration, named after the Guinean city where the meeting took place.

This declaration applies to the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) and commits the signatories to increase funding for famine-fighting projects, promoting the transition to a more autonomous and resilient agri-food system.

In early July, stakeholders of the program gathered in Casablanca to develop the action plan to be presented at the next session of the African Union’s Specialized Technical Committee.

As the event’s organizer, the Arab Maghreb Union, through Musbah Al Mabrouk, Director of Food Security, recalled that the target date for the objectives set in Malabo was set for 2025. Participants presented their experiences and requested the development of a clearer roadmap, outlining the actions of partners, investors, and states for the next decade.
