Bananas are appreciated for their nutritional value, but their peels can also be used to produce an interesting natural fertilizer for certain plants.
Banana peel fertilizer is rich in potassium, an essential mineral for the growth of stems and roots, as well as nitrogen and magnesium. The latter contributes to photosynthesis and improves nutrient absorption.
Banana peel fertilizer is particularly suitable for fruit production as well as for vegetables such as zucchini, eggplants, and cucumbers.
This alternative to chemical fertilizers is prepared in the following proportions: one kilogram of banana peels for 10 liters of water. The mixture should be protected from light, stirred regularly, and filtered after 48 hours of maceration. The resulting liquid fertilizer should be diluted with 1/3 of fertilizer and 2/3 of water.
