Comprendre les enjeux de l'agriculture

Faced with uncertainties surrounding the cotton sector, many producers are turning to soybean cultivation.
Cotton production has declined by 66% over the past five years, despite the revitalization efforts by the agro-industrial company Olam. The 46,549 tons produced in 2022 are far from the initially projected 200,000 tons under the revival project.

Soybean presents an interesting alternative that requires fewer operations and offers higher profitability.
This crop has also benefited from promising programs funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB).
The production is accompanied by the establishment of processing plants that enrich the value chain for this sector.
