Comprendre les enjeux de l'agriculture

Kyle Mohler has a dual background as a farmer and a scientist. His company, Insignum AgTech, aims to assist farmers in the early detection of diseases in crops.

The goal is to limit preventive fungicide applications to healthy areas, thereby reducing costs and soil pollution.

For the past four years, Kyle Mohler has been conducting trials in partnership with the seed company Beck’s. The focus is primarily on creating genes that allow the plant to produce different anthocyanin pigments depending on its condition.

For example, when pathogens affect a cornfield, the leaves turn purple, and the farmer can immediately apply treatment to the identified area.

Recently, Insignum Ag Tech received approval from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to market its solution in the United States.
