The COVID-19 crisis will double the number of people suffering from a food crisis to 265 million, according to an estimate by the United Nations Food Programme (WFP). The 55 countries and territories that are home to the 135 million food-insecure people are the most vulnerable to the Covid-19 crisis and have no means of limiting the damage. Last year, food insecurity affected 77 million people suffering from war, 34 million from climate change and 24 million from economic crisis. The ten hardest hit countries were Yemen, Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Venezuela, Ethiopia, Southern Sudan, Syria, Sudan, Nigeria and Haiti.
