Comprendre les enjeux de l'agriculture

The International Fund for Agricultural Development ( IFAD ), operating at, invests in rural populations and finances income-generating activities. In its annual report released earlier this year, IFAD emphasizes the importance of promoting sustainable African agriculture and ensuring its benefits reach the most vulnerable populations across Africa, while empowering them to enhance their autonomy.

The IFAD report also underscores the significance of transforming African agriculture to achieve food security and support small-scale farmers. It highlights the challenges hindering African agriculture and the opportunities available, such as improving access to resources, infrastructure, and education. Moreover, in February of this year, IFAD member states approved a budget allocation of $2 billion to combat hunger and poverty for a population of 100 million people living in rural areas.
