Comprendre les enjeux de l'agriculture

The second edition of the African Youth Summit on Biodiversity (AYSB2023) will be held at the Dawliz Hotel in Rabat from September 19 to 21, 2023.The event is supported by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development and organized by the Global Youth Biodiversity Network (GYBN) in partnership with the Moroccan Youth Biodiversity Network (MYBN).The international NGO African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) is also involved in this event as a leading organization for the conservation of Africa’s wildlife and flora.Last December, during COP15, the countries validated a Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) aimed at preserving and promoting biodiversity in future national strategies. Such an ambitious goal cannot be achieved without the involvement of African youth, who represent a significant portion of the continent’s population.
The objective of this second edition of the Summit is to move from awareness to action: researchers, young leaders, government agencies, and public or private representatives will come together to exchange knowledge and experiences related to biodiversity and discuss ways of interacting with official institutions.
This event provides a platform for youth to express their vision of a society that is fulfilled and respectful of its environment. The recommendations formulated during the Summit may be presented at future CBD meetings, such as the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical, and Technological Advice Meeting scheduled in Nairobi from October 16 to 20, 2023.
