The international financial institution has decided to allocate 45% of its budget to programs combating climate change in its upcoming fiscal year 2024-2025.

More than $40 billion will be invested in projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Currently, the World Bank allocates 36% of its budget to this initiative.

The programs will focus on strengthening the resilience of territories and populations and preserving natural ecosystems. For example, the World Bank aims to support Vietnam in the development of sustainable energy.

The institution regularly intervenes during natural disasters, assisting communities in rebuilding their social, urban, or economic ecosystems.
