Comprendre les enjeux de l'agriculture

Natural rubber is one of the major victims of the Covid-19 pandemic because of the fall in world automobile production, which is its main user for the manufacture of tyres. Prices have fallen by 25% since January. The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) estimates that world rubber consumption will fall by 5.1% in 2020 to 13.016 million tonnes. The fall in automobile consumption has been partly offset by increased demand from the health industry for the production of medical equipment including, in particular, gloves. In 2020, production is expected to fall by 2.3% to 13.344 million tonnes.
